Age 88, Sterling - Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Sterling United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rankin died Friday in Lawton. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher (Formerly Robbins Funeral Home). She was born January 1, 1921 in Tempe, Arizona, to George and Leona McClure Jones. She came to Oklahoma in a covered wagon and was raised in Sterling and attended Sterling schools. She had served as a custodian at the Sterling United Methodist Church for forty years, did ironing and babysitting at her home, but was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of the Sterling United Methodist Church. She married Oscar T. Rankin, Jr. on December 27, 1940 at Sterling. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1974. She is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Tommy and Donna Rankin, Marlow, and Jimmy Rankin, Duncan; a daughter and son in law, Diana Brooks and John Thornton, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, Debbie, Anne Marie, Laurie, Larry, Aaron, Jennifer, Paul, John and Clayton; 19 Great Grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Sean, Launi Beth, Daniel, Ashley, Brian, Kaydee, Brandi, Hayden, Cody, Jessie, Zachary, Christopher, Hiley, Kirsten, Kimberlin, Kyren and Clay; special grandchildren, Courtney, Jeanette and Frankie; 2 Brothers, Gene and George Jones; three sisters, Eula Mae Oakley, Dorothy Jump and Rose Elaine Lovett. Two sons, Oscar Bob and Larry Joe Rankin, five brothers, Royce, Glenwood, Daryl, Larry, and Ted, and two sisters, Roxene and Oleta, preceded her in death.
