Obituary

A memorial service to honor Woodie Glen Johnson will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brantley Tillery, of Walters United Methodist Church, Walters, Oklahoma, officiating.

He will be laid to rest at Paradise Valley Baptist church.

Woodie Glen Johnson was born on November 16, 1949, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Woodie Johnson, Sr. and Norma Jean Johnson (Oliver). He passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 74.

On January 2, 1987, Woodie married Debra Gale. He was a devoted husband to Debra and a loving father to their daughter, Ashley. Woodie lived his life in a way that demonstrated his love of his family and country. He was always so proud of his four years of service with the U.S. Marines. He was well-known for his politeness and his passion for riding motorcycles. Woodie retired from Arkla Gas as a service technician.

Woody is survived by his wife of the home; his daughters, whom he cherished, Ashley Johnson and Alicia Johnson; two grandchildren, Kash Middleton and Jovie Middleton; brother-in-law, Carter Gale and wife Diane, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his niece, Lindsey Johnson of Cache, Oklahoma; and nephew, Cody Johnson of Elk City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Johnny Bob; and a special grandmother, Brooksie Gross.

The family would like to give special thanks to the many friends whose help brought us such peace of mind. We were blessed with wonderful people in our lives and Woodie loved every one of you.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Woodie.
