Funeral service for Winona Marie Cornwell will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Patrick Latham, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the funeral home.

Winona Marie Cornwell, age 93, of Lawton, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Oklahoma City. She was born August 7, 1922 southeast of Lawton to Homer P. and Edna Marie (Corwin) Turner. She married Mancye A. Tompkins in 1953 in Lawton. He died in 1964. She married J.F. Cornwell in 1974 in Duncan. He died in 1995. Mrs. Cornwell was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She worked for the Comanche County Court Clerk's Office for thirty years and was an avid historian.

Survivors include her son, Steve Tompkins and his wife Kristi, Lawton, three granddaughters and their spouses, Melinda and Landon Hardin, Lawton, Cassie and Tony Garibay, Lawton and Rachel and Chris Rochell, Duncan, two great grandchildren, Tyler Hardin and Ashtyn Hardin, brother, Charles Turner and his wife Glenda, Lawton, sister, Barbara Bugg and her husband Leroy, Norman and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George Turner.
