Winifred Neva Hastings passed away peacefully on August 19, 2016 in Lee's Summit, Missouri at the age of 94.  Born in Gainesville, Texas in 1921, Win attended Fairview High School in Grady County, Oklahoma where she was an All-State girl's basketball star and graduated as Valedictorian.  She attended Oklahoma College for Women and the University of Oklahoma where she obtained a teaching degree.  During World War II she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" in an airplane factory in Kansas.  Win's grandchildren loved the stories she told of flying with fighter pilots, teaching them how to use their navigational instruments.  After the war, she pursued a career in teaching.  She met her soon-to-be husband while teaching in Sterling.  On November 28, 1946 she married Glen R. Hastings at the Chickasha Church of Christ.  They lived in a variety of places in southwest Oklahoma and also moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa where she taught 4th grade.  In 1971, they built their dream home on the family farm southwest of Lawton.  After raising her three children, she became Director of the Comanche County Oklahoma Nutrition Program for the Aged from 1975-1985.  While in that position she was awarded "Woman of the Year for the Betterment of Lawton".  She and her husband were active members of First Baptist Church Lawton until moving to Missouri where they became members of First Baptist Raytown.  She continued to teach Bible study until the age of 92.  Win adopted her new state by becoming an avid fan of the Chiefs and the Royals.  She knew every player, calling them her "boys" and could even recite their current stats.  She loved sports and her family.  Win made friends easily wherever she lived.  The one word people who knew Win used to describe her was "sweet".

Win was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glen.  She is survived by her brother, Weldon Foster of Chickasha, OK; Daughter, Glenna Moe (Richard) of Phoenix, AZ; Sons, Ron Hastings (Sandie) of Fort Worth, TX and Rich Hastings (Judy) of Lee's Summit, MO as well as her 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many favorite nieces and nephews.
