Age 85, Lucas, Kentucky - Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. Sergeant Shearer died Tuesday in Lucas, Kentucky. Burial with full military honors will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. He was born April 6, 1922 in Grayson, Kentucky, to Martin T. and Myrtle Fisher Shearer. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He was married to Orpha Shearer and she preceded him in death in 1977. He is survived by two children: William J. "Jack" Shearer, Jr., Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Diane Glassel, Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Butler, Lucas, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
