William Mitchell "Mitch" Mahoney, 56, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma died Monday, October 23, 2023 in Lawton, Oklahoma with his mother at his side.

Mitch was born May 28, 1967 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Martin and Beth (Penrod) Mahoney of Roosevelt, Oklahoma. He was a 1985 graduate of Roosevelt School and a 1991 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He married Deniese (Short) Mahoney in Sallisaw, Oklahoma in 2000. To this union a daughter, Gracie Gene Mahoney was born. While in Sallisaw, Mitch was the Supervisor of a Boys Juvenile Group Home. In 2005, they moved to Roosevelt, Oklahoma where he made his home until his death. Mitch was employed by the State of Oklahoma as a DHS Developmental Disability Supervisor Specialist. Mitch was an avid fisherman; he loved all sports, a great chef and was quick witted and usually had a joke to tell. He loved his fur baby and constant sidekick, Grace. He was member of the First Baptist Church, Roosevelt, Oklahoma.

Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Martin Mahoney, grandparents, Bill and LuVerna Mahoney and Dale and Allene Penrod all of Roosevelt, great grandparents, Mart and Martha Bailey of Roosevelt and John and Gertrude Mahoney of Hobart, Oklahoma.

Mitch is survived by his daughter, Gracie Mahoney of Clinton, Oklahoma, mother, Beth Mahoney of Lawton, Oklahoma, brother, Jeff Mahoney and wife Shelli of Lawton, sister, Krystal Hill and husband Ward of Snyder, Oklahoma, niece, Brooke Anthony and husband Todd of Marlow, Oklahoma, nephews, Tyler Mahoney of Los Angeles, California and Tommy Lancaster of Snyder, grandniece, Berklea Anthony and grandnephew, Lincoln Anthony both of Marlow, aunt, LuAnn Smith of Tomball, Texas and uncle, James D Penrod and wife Peggy of New Braunsfel, Texas and several cousins and many lifelong friends.
