Funeral service for William Floyd Clarkson will be at 2:30 pm Friday, April 1, 2016 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Sparks, Minister of Porter Hill Church of Christ, Elgin officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Highland Cemetery, Lawton.

The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 7pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

William Floyd Clarkson, 89, Lawton passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in a Lawton hospital.  He was born May 25, 1926 in Mayfield, OK to William Ernest and Mary Jane (Kelsay) Clarkson.  He attended Grant Union High School in Sacramento, CA and served in the US Navy during WW II.  He was honorably discharged in June of 1946.  He married Loretta Joyce McGee on February 13, 1949 in Sacramento, CA.  She passed away May 4, 1996.  He worked for Western Union in California, and later worked Civil Service at McClelland AFB until 1970, when he transferred to Tinker AFB and later working at Fort Sill.  He taught locally at Vo-Tech and served as a caregiver for his wife.  On October 4, 1997 he married Movelda Barker Knott in Elgin.  They attended Porter Hill Church of Christ, where he was an elder and volunteered with the Sojourners.

He is survived by his wife Movelda of the home, a son Danny Clarkson and wife Sharon of Kearney, MO, 2 daughters, Kathleen McCarty and husband Mac of Belton, TX, Susie Noah and husband Rob of Coppell, TX, 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and a sister Bessie Blachly of Carmichael, CA.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Loretta, a daughter Linda Kalli, granddaughter Shelly and his brother Willard and a sister Jessie.
