Funeral service for William Shelton "Bud" White III will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel with Emmett Hayslip, Mountain Park, OK officiating.
Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View, OK.
William Shelton "Bud" White, 63, Snyder, was born in Hobart, Oklahoma to Shellean (Coon) White and Wilford Charles White on September 12, 1953. Mr. White passed away suddenly on October 5, 2016 in Snyder, Oklahoma. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Growing up the son of a teacher and cattle auctioneer in Mountain Park, Oklahoma, Bud enjoyed small town life. He played sports and showed calves as a member of the local FFA. It was in these Oklahoma small towns where Bud would meet and marry his high school sweetheart, Anita (Bingham) White. Bud and Anita had two sons who enjoy successful careers in the music industry. Ultimately Bud lived his final years in Snyder, Oklahoma just a few miles from where he grew up.
Bud was an avid fisherman. He loved the outdoors, playing sports, and especially fishing. But his greatest passion was music. The first instrument he played was the drums. Shortly thereafter, he learned to play the piano. But his discovery of the guitar would change his life forever. He devoted all his energy into singing, songwriting, and mastering the guitar. Driven to pursue a career in music, he founded many bands and played in many others through the years. He grew into an accomplished, professional musician performing in many states and was a staple of the Oklahoma City music scene throughout the 1970's, 80's and 90's.
Everyone that met him knew him to be loving and gentle. He was a kindhearted man that enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, playing his guitar and relaxing near his favorite fishing hole. He leaves a legacy of love, music, and the tradition of the outdoors to his sons and grandsons.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Wilford Charles White. He is survived by his mother, Shellean (Coon) White of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, son Bryan White, wife Erika, grandsons Justin and Jackson, of Brentwood, Tennessee, son Daniel White, wife Lindsay, grandsons Nolan and Parker of Franklin, Tennessee, sister Linda Bolton of Granite, Oklahoma, sister Shella Stinley, husband Ron of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, uncle Elvin White, wife Melva of Tyler, Texas, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and neighbors throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
"My heart, O God is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music."
