Funeral arrangements for Willene M. Penick, 83, Lawton will be at 1:30 pm Thursday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Leonard Reimer, Faith Bible Church, Lawton officiating. Mrs. Penick died Sunday in a local care center. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. She was born January 28, 1929 in Ardmore, OK to Robert and Nora (Scott) Ferrell. She married Carlton E. Penick on November 28, 1948 in Henrietta, OK. She grew up in Lawton, and later returned to Lawton from Virginia in 1985. She was a bus driver for Lawton Public Schools, retiring in 1995. She then owned Ferrell's Wallpaper Plus for twelve years. She was a member of Faith Bible Church, where she was involved with Bible School, Sunday school, Children's Church and was very involved with church hospitality. She is survived by her husband, Carlton E. Penick of the home, three daughters, Dellene Scott and husband Chester of Fort Smith, AR, Bobbie Spencer of Lawton, OK, Robin Harris and husband James of Lawton, OK, son Dennis Penick of Houston, TX, two sisters, Dorothy Reynolds of Lawton, OK, Joan Ferrell of Burleson, TX, seven grandchildren, Randy Richards, Rhonda Patterson, Renae Price, Rodney Richards, Danny Spencer, Kendra Schoolfield, Alex Penick, 15 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Geraldine Skaggs, granddaughter Regina Richards and great grandson Chase Richards. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
