Funeral service for Wayne Edward Owens, 82, Indiahoma will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel with his son-in-law Faron Griffin, Walters, OK officiating. Wayne passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Lawton. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. * The family will greet friends Friday evening, December 13, 2013 at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm * He was born October 4, 1931 at Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Leonard Parker and Virgie (Risenhoover) Owens. He grew up in the Mountain Park area, and later the Indiahoma area where he graduated from high school in 1950. He married Susan (Adams) Owens on December 2, 1967 at Prairie View Baptist Church, east of Snyder. He was a farmer and rancher on the family farm east of Snyder, where he lived from 1947 until his death. He was a carpenter by trade. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957, and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve in 1961. Wayne loved his family and they always came first. He loved his granddaughters Cassidy and Emily so very much. Wayne is survived by his wife Susan of the home, a son Douglas Wayne Owens of the home, daughter Margaret Elizabeth (Owens) Griffin and her husband Faron, and his two granddaughters Cassidy and Emily Griffin all of Walters, OK. He is also survived by several cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
