Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Wanda Jean Reser, 86, long-time Snyder-area resident, will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel. Wanda Jean died Sunday, November 1, 2015 in her home of six months, The Commons Senior Living in Elk Grove, California. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. The family will greet friends Thursday evening, November 12, 2015 at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm. Wanda Jean was born October 9, 1929, to Alice Ruth (Johnson) and Robert Owens in Mountain Park, the oldest of eight children. She graduated as valedictorian from Mountain Park High School in 1947. She married Don Reser in 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2012, after nearly 65 years of married life together. They had three children, Sherry, Kathie and Gary. Wanda Jean was a homemaker and loved her home southwest of Snyder, which she and Don built in 1957. It was her refuge and she liked nothing better than to be there. However, Wanda Jean showed her resiliency and adaptability in her quick acceptance to life in an assisted living community after decades living on the farm with just her family. She and Don were well-known and active in the Pleasant Valley community. Wanda Jean was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Home Cheer Club, and the Snyder Women's Study Club. She participated in the theatrical programs done by the Pleasant Valley community, taught Sunday school and raised her children. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Sherry Reser, Elk Grove, CA; Kathie Bryant & husband Pete, Plymouth, MN; and a son Gary Reser & wife Crystal, Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Robin Lindell & husband Erik, Apple Valley, MN; Allison Reser, Denver, CO; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jake and Kelsey Lindell, all of Apple Valley, MN. Her surviving siblings are Lee Herman, Williamsport, PA; Bobby Owens, Lawton, OK; Joe Owens & wife Maxine, Faxon, OK; and Voncyle Alexander, Savanna, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to: Fairlawn Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 365, Snyder, OK 73566 or to the Friends of the Snyder Public Library, 805 E. Street, Snyder, OK., 73566
