Funeral service for Waltraud "Trudy" Hamilton, 79, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hamilton died Saturday, June 13, 2015, in Lawton. The family will greet friends from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born July 23, 1935 in Nuremberg, Germany. She grew up in Germany and as a girl worked in a department store. She had been a restaurant owner and later worked in a Fort Sill dining facility. She had also worked as a salesperson, selling everything from insurance to encyclopedias. She married CPT (Retired) Harlan R. Hamilton, Jr. on November 30, 1976 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Trudy was a bargain hunter whether it was shopping or visiting garage sales. She also enjoyed going to the casino. She is survived by her husband, of the home; ten children and their spouses, Henry and Ruth Philpott, Germany, Willie Philpott, Theodore and Lorie Philpott, Collette Philpott, Robert and Nikki Philpott, Ronnie and Melissa Holcomb, Joseph and Barbara Holcomb, Donna and Jerry Madden, David and Nancy Holcomb and Shaun and Melissa Hamilton, all of Lawton; two step children, Harlan R. Hamilton, III and wife Dee, Tennessee and Kari Lynn Hamilton, Florida; 40 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and two great great grandson. Her parents and a brother, Wilhelm Koppel, preceded her in death.
