Age 85, Lawton - Services will be 1:30 pm Saturday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Vivian Garza, Pastor, Antioch Baptist Church, South of Lawton, officiating. Mrs. Rhodes died Wednesday in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born August 15, 1923 in Monroe, Michigan to Hugh and Edna (Duvall) Godfred. She married Ernest E. Rhodes on March 12, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mrs. Rhodes worked during World War II in a defense factory in Monroe, Michigan. She also managed the restaurant at Thunderbird Lanes for many years. Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Allen Rhodes of Lawton, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Aubrena Mae and her husband, Lt. Matt O'Neal, of San Diego, California; a sister-in-law, Estel Pickens and her husband, Dude, of Geronimo, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl and Hugh A. Godfred and a sister, Pearl Gilbreath.
