Funeral service for Vineta Brewer Jones, 93, Snyder will be at 2:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2013 in the First Baptist Church, Snyder with Rev, Kerry Glasgow, Pastor and Dick Neptune, Lawton officiating. Vineta Brewer Jones stepped from time into eternity on Monday, April 15, 2013 in Snyder, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. *** The family will greet friends Thursday evening, April 18, 2013 from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home *** She was born February 3, 1920 in Snyder, Oklahoma to Ira and Faye Cook. Vineta attended school in Snyder and married Ditz Brewer on November 15, 1935 and raised five children. They were married for 59 years until his death in 1994. Vineta then married Calvin Jones on March 28, 1997. Calvin died in 2002. Vineta left a cherished legacy to her family through her love of music, dancing, and family gatherings. She and Ditz were avid square dancers, and loved to two-step and waltz. Her family especially loved her cooking and Sunday dinners. Her home was always the center of holidays, countless birthdays, graduations, and other family celebrations. Vineta was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Her son once told a friend "to find my mother look for the prettiest woman in town." Vineta was known for her gentle ways and beautiful smile. She taught the true meaning of hospitality, unconditional love, and perseverance. Her family always came first in her life and for that they are grateful. Vineta left a wealth of wonderful memories and a large family which includes: four children, Monty Brewer and wife Gladys of Hereford, TX, Carole Neptune and husband Dick of Lawton, OK, Ronnie Brewer and wife Becky of Indiahoma, OK, Dianne Atchley and husband Mike of Snyder, OK, one brother, Dennis Cook and wife Joan of Phoenix, AZ, one sister, Doris Poole and husband Dan of Duncanville, TX, thirteen grandchildren, Derek Knowles and wife Barbara of Wichita Falls, TX, Larrie Knowles and wife Deann of Lawton, OK, Joe Knowles and wife Retha of Apache, OK, Todd Woodward and wife Renee of Aledo, TX, Shaun Geiger and husband Mike of Snyder, OK, Chad Woodward and wife Kristi of Frisco, TX, Cristy Fischer and husband Leon of Chattanooga, OK, Stephanie Baker and husband Darren of Indiahoma, OK, Travis Brewer and wife Catherine of Dallas, TX, Melissa Miller and husband Kirk of Amarillo, TX, Roy Glen Brewer of Hereford, TX, Shannon Davis of Ardmore, OK, two step-sons, Darwin Jones and wife Dora of Frederick, OK and Greg Jones of Denton, TX. Vineta had twenty-four great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. She also had many special nieces and nephews and wonderful friends in Jewel Carter, Johnny Kirk and Margie Roberts. Vineta was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, an infant son, Glen Arlen Brewer, son Kenny Doyle Brewer, sister Udee Wilson, grandson Tab Brewer and step-son Jimmy Jones and his wife Judy.
