Funeral services for Vilma Scott will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Vilma Scott, 68, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away Saturday October 1, 2022, in Lawton.

Vilma was born in Tela, Honduras. The daughter of Fermina Grandoit and William Blanco.

Fermina. She worked to find and make a home for Vilma and her brother, Leopold Martinez, in Boston Massachusetts.

After making a home in Boston, Vilma met the love of her life, William Scott.

A few years later, William and Vilma, married and began their journey that was filled with adventure, challenges, fun, and most of all LOVE.

Vilma, William, and their four children: Yvette, William Jr., Brianna, and Laurie left Boston for the beautiful California coast. Their adventures in the Army took them all over the United States and Europe, to create experiences and lifelong memories together as a family.

They traveled and explored as Vilma dedicated her life to her family by making sure her children saw their time as a military family as an adventure. She ensured that with every move from place to place, her home was quickly put in place so that stability and continuity was in place for her children.

She took care of her Army husband and supported her children. She was both as firm as a drill sergeant but loved deeper than all the oceans combined.

Vilma is survived by her loving husband William Scott, her mother-in-law Alberta Scott, her children: William Jr., Brianna, and Laurie. She has seven grandchildren: T'Yanna, Tyrese, Lautez, Lamont, Kailyn, DJ, and Liam and one great granddaughter, Jailyn.

Vilma will be missed deeply, her infectious laugh, her charisma, her zest for life will linger and will resonate in all of us for eternity.
