Funeral for Verlia Louise Payne, 84, Lawton will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Lawton Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Darrel Maddox, pastor officiating. Mrs. Payne died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Lawton. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. She was born August 23, 1930 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Verley L. and Annie (Sembritzky) Cole. She married Glen Reed McDowell in January 1949. He died September 1979. She married George Ewing in May 1981. He died in May 1991. She married Hugh George Payne, Jr. in December 2004. He died in July 2007. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Victoria and Bruce Johnson, Springfield, Virginia, Martin McDowell, Lawton, Tracy and Glenn Smith, Duncan and Stuart McDowell, Texas, six grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Adam Johnson, Lindsey McDowell, Jennifer French, Shauna Cole and Amanda McDowell, seven great grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Reed Johnson, Alexa French, Greg French, Caleb Cole, Katelynn Cole and Alayna Castro, a sister, Lily Moore, San Antonio, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
