Funeral service for Verdie Boydstun Hughes, 96, Lawton, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Lehew officiating. Mrs. Hughes died Monday, April 14, 2014 in Lawton. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. She was born February 23, 1918 in Markham, Oklahoma, to James Franklin and Mary Rozella (Batterton) Maloney. She moved to Cache, Oklahoma in 1932 and married James Frank Boydstun on July 12, 1933 at the First Baptist Church in Lawton. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Troy Lee and Betty Boydstun, Lawton, a daughter in law, Janice Boydstun, Newton, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Jack Morse and wife Carol, Jana Lemley and husband David, Lisa Sparks, Anita Davis, Troy Boydstun, Jr. and wife Malissa, Ronald Boydstun and Brian Boydstun; 11 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Her parents, two children, Frankie Boydstun and Shirley Boydstun Morse, six brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
