Funeral service for Velma Marburger Kuntz will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2017 in St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Bill Schneider, pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Flower Mound Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Velma Marburger Kuntz, age 96, Lawton, was born January 26, 1921 to Herman and Emma Thur in Granite, Oklahoma.  She was baptized in February of 1921.  Moving to Lone Wolf, Oklahoma at an early age she was confirmed in 1935 at the Lutheran church in Lone Wolf.  She was a 1939 graduate of Lone Wolf High School.

Velma married Walter Marburger on June 17, 1939.  He preceded her in death on September 28, 1988.  She later married Elmo Kuntz on November 9, 1992.  He died April 1, 2001.  She worked for Fairmont Food Company for 35 years and IBW Electrical Union for five years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Debbie Marburger, Lawton; a daughter, Kimberly, Marburger, Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Charity Smith, Brandy Adams, Jeremy Marburger, Tisha Kay Kenney, Zackery Marburger, Casie Renea Kinney, nine great grandchildren, Leache Smith, Arielle Smith, Hayden Murphy, Sean Smith, Raegan Marburger, Kieran Smith, Trysta Murphy, Mason Lemmen, and Gavin Lemmen.
