Vancie Lee Gibbins, 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born on April 4, 1937, in England, Arkansas, to Earl Stanford and Versie Tora (Linn) Gibbins. Vancie grew up in Des Arc, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school and was an active member of the football and basketball teams.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961, serving as a Corpsman attached to the Marines and held the rank of HM3. It was there he met Melba Faye Carter, and the two were married on February 5, 1963, in Rosedale, California. Melba preceded him in death on July 29, 2017. When they were first married Vancie worked a short time for Atlantic Richfield Oil Corporation (ARCO) and then worked primarily as a farmer

In 1978, he and his family relocated to Cement, Oklahoma, where he continued his career with Young's Well Service and later with BECO Oil Service.

Known for his strong sense of organization and dedication, Vancie found joy in retirement by maintaining not only his own lawn but also those of his neighbors. He never met a stranger and liked visiting and exchanging stories with friends and family. He particularly enjoyed teasing and kidding around with family and close friends.

He is survived by his two daughters, Joy Feldman and Diana Lee Drennan and her husband Bret; grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Kaetlyn Feldman, Nolen and Amber Drennan, PFC Tanner Drennan, Gentry Drennan, and Cheryl and Matthew St John; great grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Landon, Logan, Finley and Claylee; a great great granddaughter, Airabella; his brother, Joe Gibbins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Wayne Feldman, two brothers, Earl "Buddy" Gibbins and Hulen Ray Gibbins, and six sisters, Jessie Cox, Earnestine Whittenburg, Sarah Hawthorne, Thelma Folkner, Maxine Folkner and Annie Carolyn Gibbins.
