Eugene was born March 13, 1936 in Grandfield to Thomas Newton and Edna Faye (Howell) Lee. Eugene Johnny Lee, known to his friends as Johnny, was born in Grandfield or as he liked to tell people that he was born in a field in the country but they all just called it Grandfield. Halsey Powell as a Commissaryman 3 rd class he joined the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. Johnny loved cars and one of his favorite memories that he shared was the time he crashed his 47' Buick off a mountain in Tripoli and walked away from it. He loved sharing stories about working with friends around the world in the military and at Sheppard Air Force Base Transit Alert for Dynacorp. After he retired he enjoyed his antique car collection and attending car auctions with friends. He could often be found at Leo's Country Kitchen, Big Chef and traveling to Medicine Park and the Wichita Mountains.
