Troy Hamiliton died Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 70. He was a twin born January 5, 1955 in Stuttgart, Germany to Elvin K. and Norene (Lindsey) Hamilton. Interestingly enough, Troy's mother, Norene, was also a twin. Troy grew up in Lawton and loved the Lawton community. He was a 1973 graduate of Eisenhower High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the German Club. Troy also sang with the Gentry Singers and later sang with the Cameron Swingers in college.
Troy earned his bachelor's degree from Cameron University in 1978. He majored in both math and computer science with a minor in music. Troy worked as a government contractor for both Telos and CACI and only recently retired.
Troy was a lifetime member of Cameron Baptist Church and was an integral part of various church ministries. He particularly enjoyed singing in church, his role in the church's Easter production and recently in the church's Christmas dinner theater. Troy had also played various roles with the Lawton Community Theater and the Fort Sill Dinner Theater. Many people will remember him for singing at various weddings and funerals. He was a member of the Board of the Lawton Arts for All and the Southwest Pride Barbershop Chorus. Troy was particularly honored to have been named 2004 "Artist of the Year" and 2024 "Volunteer of the Year" by the Lawton Arts and Humanities Council.
Troy will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His humorous sarcasm and his ability to be quick witted will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sisters, Debi Hamilton Tahbonemah and husband Philip, Lawton, and Betty Hamilton Lyles and husband Scott, Venice, Florida; his sister-in-law, Denise Hamilton, Lawton; nieces and nephews, Amanda Rundle, Evan Hamilton, Joshua Lopes, Lindsey Henley (and husband Aaron), Samantha Jordan, Lucas Tahbonemah, Matthew Lyles (and wife Moriya), Lauren Lyles, Rachel Lyles, Malka Lyles and Leah Lyles; great nieces and nephews, Gracie, Matthew, Ethan, Cooper, Owen, Ty, Cole, Coyote, Luxe and Nathaniel; as well as other extended family and far too many friends to mention.
His parents, his twin brother, Roy C. Hamilton, and an infant sister, Patricia Ann Hamilton preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cameron Baptist Church Building Fund, 2621 SW C Avenue, Lawton, Oklahoma 73505.
