Tony Lee Prince, age 89, Lawton, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his home with loved ones by his side. He was born April 11, 1928 to Benjamin and Daisy (Ledford) Prince. He grew up in the Blanchard and Purcell, Oklahoma area. His family moved to the Paradise Valley area early in his life and worked a farm. He became a farm hand for the Heffner and Burns families at an early age. He met and married Martha Dee Waldon, his "Texas Rose", on November 10, 1945 in Lawton. Together they worked in a small store across from the Paradise Valley Church. From there he began raising cattle and farming on several leased properties. He also hauled milk in huge milk cans to Fairmont Creamery from dairy farms throughout the valley.
In the late 50's, early 60's he began driving an 18 wheeler for Three Way Trucking and Pitts Trucking. He received several Safe Driving awards during this time. In 1969 he bought his own truck and went into business for himself, leasing out to Joe Brown. Then in 1984 he moved to Dolese Brother's and later to Jennings Trucking. During this time he had four diesel 18 wheelers and trailers, one of which was his 1974 International named "Spot". Finally in 1996 he hauled for OK Concrete out of Wichita Falls, Texas. He always said "It's the best job I've ever had" and that he felt like they were a part of his family. He worked for OK Concrete until he and "Spot" retired in 2016 at 88 years of age.
Tony had a sense of humor, love of family, beautiful blue eyes and a work ethic to strive for. He was a man of integrity and honesty. His word was as good as a hand shake or contract. He loved to travel with his wife to the western states when he had time.
