Obituary

Theresa Milich, also known to most as Mom, Ma, Grandma, or "My Dear" age 69, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on July 18, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, Theresa lived a life marked by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and country.

Theresa married the love of her life, Michael Andrew Milich, Sr., on July 17, 1982. Their union spanned more than four decades and was filled with shared adventures and enduring commitment. Together they raised two sons: George Joseph Richey and Michael Andrew Milich, Jr. In her younger years, Theresa found joy in the outdoors-helping Mike with yard work or small projects around the house. Her adventurous spirit followed them across the country as they moved from Chicago to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii after Mike completed Basic Training at Fort Sill. In 1994 they returned to Lawton/Fort Sill, Oklahoma where they built their home base for most of their married life. From 2014 to 2020 they spent six memorable years in Arizona where they made lasting friendships before returning to Oklahoma.

Though she never wore a military uniform herself, Theresa's life was deeply intertwined with service to our nation. She was the daughter of a World War II veteran, sister to two Vietnam War veterans, wife to an Iraqi Freedom veteran, mother of two sons who served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, aunt to a Navy veteran, and grandmother to a current Airman. The quiet strength she carried through years of worry for her loved ones in uniform was a testament to her courage and selflessness.

Theresa's heart knew no bounds. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back or the last dollar in her wallet without hesitation. Her generosity extended far beyond material things-she gave her time freely and always offered a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was comforting someone in distress or simply sharing a laugh over the latest iPad game or Hallmark movie plot twist, she had a way of making people feel seen and loved.

Theresa had a special fondness for catching up on shows from The Hallmark Channel and Lifetime-her favorite way to unwind after a day spent caring for others or keeping up with family near and far.

Her legacy continues through her seven beloved grandchildren: Kylee Richey, Dylan Richey, Michael Milich III, MacKenzie Milich, Addy Milich, Anderson Milich, and Alex Milich.

Theresa is also remembered fondly by her extended family. She is survived by her two sons George (Rachel) and Michael Jr., (Anna), sister-in-law Michelle "Beans" (David) Yates, nephew Eric (Tami) VonDissen, Patrick (Jane) and their daughter Sutton; nieces Kelli VonDissen Starbuck and her son Tyler Starbuck; Amy VonDissen Fenney and her daughters Mara and Morgan Fenney; Becky (Lage) VonDissen and their daughter Lucia; Allison (Alex) Hudson and their children Cam, Jordan, and Brooks; Emily (Josh) Revilla and their son Joshua, as well as her sisters children: Bill Conti, Carl Conti Jr., and Beth Ann Conti.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Betty VonDissen and her siblings Maudie Conti, Charles VonDissen, John VonDissen, and her very best friend Patricia "Patsy".

Theresa Milich leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering love. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and continue to inspire acts of kindness for generations to come.
