Private family services will be held for Teruko Makanani, 83, Lawton. Mrs. Makanani died Monday at Comanche County Memorial Hospital after an extensive bout with cancer. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born March 27, 1926 in Japan to Kiyotaro and Fuchi Fujinami. She married Lawrence Makanani on April 1, 1948 in Sasebo City, Japan. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1973. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three sons and daughters in law, David and Lori Makanani, Edmond, Oklahoma, Gary and Susan Makanani, Plano, Texas, and Alan and Suzanne Makanani, Conyers, Georgia; five grandchildren, Michelle Makanani, Kristine Lang, Kyley Makanani, Katie Makanani and Tyler Makanani; a great grandson, Peyton Lang. Her parents, a son, Richard Makanani, a granddaughter, Jordan Makanani, three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
