Terry Lee Stovall, age 75, of Lawton, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Lawton.

He was born on June 7, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was adopted by his parents Jesse and Lois Stovall of Lawton.  He grew up in Lawton and attended Swinney Elementary, Tomlinson Junior High and graduated from Lawton High School in 1963.  He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1967 and earned his Master of Music Education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1976.  Mr. Stovall was a band director for the Lawton Public Schools for forty years, having taught at Central Junior High and many of the elementary schools.

He was a percussionist in the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra and taught percussion at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University summer band camps as well as teaching percussion for band students at Tomlinson Junior High.

He was a member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and the Oklahoma Band Directors Association.   He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
