Funeral service for Tawana Sue Atkinson will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Snyder, Oklahoma with Rev. William Dicky of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Snyder, Oklahoma officiating.

The family will greet friends Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home in Snyder, Oklahoma.

Tawana Sue Atkinson, 70, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Tawana was born on March 27, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. She married Hurchell L. Atkinson on February 4, 1980, and they were happily married for 45 years. She was as Hurchell put it "a great wife, mother, and grandmother."

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Dean Joseph and Charles Shon Atkinson, two daughters, Dana Yvonne and Lavonda Lorrianne Atkinson, seven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded by her parents.
