Sylvia "Nanna" Elaine Chennault, age 78, passed away after an unexpected and quick battle
with pancreatic cancer on the morning of May 9th, 2022 in the presence of her loving family.
Sylvia was born on October 5th, 1943 in Springfield Illinois to Augusta Bartsch Rebsch and Paul
Rebsch. She grew up with two siblings, Rosalie Rebsch Bowles and the late Roland Rebsch.
She later graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1960, followed shortly by her
marriage to Joseph Beck I in December of that same year.
Sylvia and Joseph had two children, Joseph "Joey" Beck II and Vicki Beck Walton, born May
18th 1963 and May 13th 1967 respectively. In 1983 they began construction on a home in
Lawton, Oklahoma, which would come to be Sylvia's home for nearly 40 years.
While working at Goodyear, Sylvia met her second husband, Pat William Chennault. They were
married on September 30th, 1993. Pat had two kids prior to their union, which Sylvia welcomed
and loved as if they were her own. Sylvia and Pat both retired from Goodyear on June 30th,
2002.
Sylvia will be remembered as a compassionate, generous, and loving mother, grandmother,
sister, and friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor, an incredible love of gardening, and
quite the appetite for pizza and Cappuccino Chunky Chocolate ice cream from Braum's. If not
gardening, you could almost certainly find Sylvia scrapbooking and memorializing her favorite
memories from both her early and later life.
Not many people have such a beautiful gift to positively impact so many people in such massive
ways. Sylvia was one of those people, and she never hesitated to use that gift to spread love
and kindness to everyone around her.
Sylvia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Stacey Beck and her daughter and
son-in-law Vicki and Andy Walton; her two step sons and one daughter-in-law, Russell
Chennault and Jonathan and Melani Chennault; a sister, Rosalie Bowles; 9 grandchildren,
Regan and Jared Mangiameli; Ryan and Riley Walton; Hannah and Courtney Beck; Brian
Chennault; Meagan and Garrett Chennault; and one great grandchild, Lexa Valentine. Along with
her family, Sylvia is survived by her church congregation, who she thought of as a second
family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charitable organization that reminds you of our
loving Nanna.
Memorial service for Sylvia "Nanna" Elaine Chennault will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11,
2022 at Carriage Hills Christian Church with Terry Marsh, Minister officiating.
Interment in the Fort Sill National Cemetery with her husband will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being held under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
