Memorial service for Susan Carol Gwizdale will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Susan Carol Gwizdale passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 63.

Susan was born on August 11, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Glenn and Madge Rice. She was raised in Houston, Texas, where she graduated from high school before attending Oklahoma State University and studying psychology.

An accomplished horsewoman, Susan excelled in barrel racing during her youth, earning state championship titles in both Texas and Louisiana.

In 2018, Susan moved to the Lawton area from Tomball, Texas. She dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a veterinary technician at Beaver's Animal Hospital and later as a caregiver at Willow Park Health Care Center. Her compassion extended beyond her profession, as she had a lifelong love for animals and rescued many throughout the years.

Above all else, Susan cherished her family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Amy Windham, Cara and Buddy Grissom, and Matthew and Haylea Telford; her grandchildren, Madison, Paisley, Sutton, Trista, and Ashlynd; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanna and Curt Wolf.

Her parents preceded her in death.
