Funeral service for Susan Denise Bateman, 62, Snyder, will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel with Rev. Les Banks, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Indiahoma, OK officiating. Susan passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Lawton. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, OK. The family will greet friends Monday evening, August 3, 2015 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. She was born April 27, 1953 in Long Beach, CA to Earl and Fay (Sparks) Gates. She was raised in the Los Angeles area, and on December 28, 1974 she married Daniel Teixeira. Together they raised 6 children, Deniella, Daniel, Jr., Tracy, Sally, Stephanie and Johnny. In 1984 the two divorced, and Susan and her three children, Sally, Stephanie and Johnny moved to Snyder, OK. On January 28, 1994 she married Douglas Bateman in Vernon, TX. She instantly became like a mother to Douglas's three children, Brittani, Duane and Steven. She earned her Bachelor of Psychology degree from Cameron University and worked for the Department of Defense as a secretary for the Civil Engineering Squadron. In 1996 the couple moved to Tulsa and she gained employment through the State of Oklahoma Department of Visual Services, where she worked with visually impaired individuals to improve their daily lives at both work and home by providing them with the necessary means to live alone with their disability, and to gain the skills, knowledge and tools to improve their ability to work adequately. In 2006 she moved to Duncan, OK and worked as case manager and counselor for Day Springs Counseling where she provided counseling to individuals placed in drug court. She moved back to Snyder in 2009 where she lived until her death. She is survived by her husband Douglas of the home, 9 children, Sally Boyer of Cache, OK and her 4 children, Nathan Odom, Emma Carter of Altus, OK, and Abigail and Kaitlin Boyer both of Cache, OK, Stephanie Crume of Tipton, OK and her 2 children, Cayden and Sarah Crume, Johnny Teixeira and wife Stefanie of Mannum, Australia and their 3 children, Kasia, Johnny, Jr., and Nikita Teixeira, Deniella Ulsky and her son Carl of Portland, OR, Daniel Teixeira, Jr., of Bakersfield, CA and his four children, Daniel III, Kurtis, Felicia and Courtney, Tracy Cecil and her husband Tony and their 3 children, Maryann and Laura of Eldon, MO and Brittani Mahan and husband Brent of Lawton, OK and their 3 children, Molly Sims and husband Cody of Chickasha, OK, and Maggie and Nick also of Lawton. Duane Bateman and wife Candice and their 4 children, Keona, Tai, Mika and Kelii all of Vacaville, CA, Steven Bateman and wife Desiray and their 2 daughters Destinee and Heather of Papillion, NE. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Gayle Cronic of Redding, CA and Karen Hesch of Snyder, OK, and a brother Gregory Gates of Red Bluff, CA. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, adored her grandchildren and always helped those in need. She will be greatly missed by all those that had the privilege to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Daniel.
