Graveside service for SSG (Retired) Leslie Jay Welch will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.

SSG (Retired) Leslie Jay Welch, age 62, of Lawton passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Wichita Falls, Texas surrounded by family and friends.  He was born November 18, 1954 in Wenatchee, Washington to Roland Jay and Peggy Lou (Campbell) Welch.  He married Angelika Hochadel on November 12, 1976 in Bad Rappenau, Germany.  Sgt Welch retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of service, where he served in Pershing Field Artillery for fifteen years and MLRS Field Artillery for five years.

Survivors include his wife, of the home, two sons, Patrick Welch, of the home and Michael Welch and his wife Donabell, Lawton, two granddaughters, Sophia Welch and Micah Welch, both of Lawton and a sister, Rhonda Welch, Kent, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Welch.
