Age 71, Geronimo - Services will be 1:30 PM Saturday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bubba Clark, pastor of Cross Timbers Church officiating. Mr. French died Wednesday in a local hospital. Burial with military honors will be in Flower Mound Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. He was born May 25, 1936 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Blake Sherman and Florence (Graham) French. He married Peggy S. Jackson on May 18, 1963 in Odessa, Texas. Mr. French joined the Army Reserves at age 16 and also served in the Air Force for four years. He was a pilot and a race car driver. He was involved in the oil business for several years. Mr. French was a member of the American Legion, Retired Service Personnel Association and the VFW. Survivors include his wife, of the home, three children, Robert Petty, Austin, Texas, Kim Thomas, Geronimo and Blake Sherman French and his wife Shirley, Austin, Texas, two brothers, Lee French and his wife Shirley, Odessa, Texas and Therman French and his wife Nan, Lawton, a sister, Bonnie Knight and her husband James, Odessa, Texas, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Faye French and Earl French.
