Graveside memorial service for Sharon K. Anderson, 65, Snyder will be at 10:00am Monday in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder with Elder Norman Jones, Snyder Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Sharon died Friday, June 17, 2011 at her home in Snyder following a lengthy battle with COPD and Melanoma. Inurnment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Snyder. She was born May 30, 1946 in Richwood, WV to Clen R. and Audra (Hollandsworth) Simmons. She moved to Texas in 1964 and started a family. She pursued her lifelong dream in 1979 when she enrolled in nursing school. Sharon became an LPN at St. John's Episcopal in 1980, and received her RN from Tarrant County Junior College in 1989. She thought her life really began when she married Vernon Anderson on December 17, 1988 in Arlington, TX. Sharon worked at HCA in Arlington before transferring to Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, where she worked until 2002. She and Vernon raised Cheyanne, their granddaughter. Sharon's last wish was to see Cheyanne graduate from high school, which she did. Sharon also proudly presented her other granddaughter Maurisa, with her nursing pin from Tarrant County Junior College in December of 2010. Sharon was also truly blessed with her church family from Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband Vernon L. Anderson, daughter Karen B. Harrison and husband Gene, son Kelly D. Borden, daughter Cheyanne N. Anderson, daughter Sherry Ross and husband Michael, daughter Karen Walter and husband Chuck, son Bill Anderson and wife Stacey, daughter Susan Anderson, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her twin sister Shellie S. Siwajek and husband Tim, and a brother Wesley Snelgrove. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Simmons and Perry Saunders.
