Burial with full military honors will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
SGT (Retired)William "Bill" Alexander Looney, 70, of Lawton, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at his home. He was born on March 19, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, to John and Faye Looney. He spent his early childhood in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia before settling in his beloved Florida in 1964.
Despite his outgoing personality later in life, Bill was known in his younger years as the quiet, gentle kid in the background. He played a significant role in helping his mother raise his younger siblings, stepping up with maturity and care.
At the age of 17, Bill left home to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army. His military service took him around the world, where he met and married the love of his life, Pae-Suk. After 20 years of honorable service, Bill retired from the Army and continued his journey as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Pae-Suk; their children: Chris Looney, LeaAnn Looney, and Adrian Jenkins, all of Lawton, Oklahoma; and James Looney of St. Augustine, Florida. He was a proud grandfather to Madison and Jayden Mann, Landen Cantrell, Avery, Owen, and Lily Jenkins, as well as Bryan, Jamie Lynn, and Johanthan Looney.
He is also survived by his sister, Tammey Hart, her children Tasha and Tommy, their families, and his nephew Josh Looney.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Faye Looney, and his younger brother, Paul Looney.
Known for his quick wit and love of laughter, Bill was always ready with a prank, a joke, or a funny story-anything to brighten someone's day. He was a loyal friend to many and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life.
Later in life, Bill came to know Jesus and became a member of First Baptist Church in Lawton. He devoted many hours to studying the Bible, often alongside his dear friends, Bill and Pat, whose fellowship meant a great deal to him and his family.
Bill Looney leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
