Funeral service for SGT (Retired) Floyd C. Stephenson will be 9:30 A.M. Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Bill Schneider, pastor officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Viewing will be from 8:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

SGT (Retired) Floyd C. Stephenson, age 87, of Lawton passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Lawton with the love of his life and wife of sixty-two years by his side.  Floyd was born August 26, 1928 in Portland, Arkansas and spent his youth on the family farm there.  He was the 13th child and knew about hard work growing up.  He enlisted in the Army at the age of 18 and spent twenty years in service to our country.  He later worked for Civil Service and various other jobs.  Floyd loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.  He will be remembered fondly by his family and those who knew him well for his unique and comical nicknames for others, as well as his own country wisdom and sayings.

He is survived by his wife, Hannelore, of the home, three children, Yvonne Trothen and her husband Steve, Newport News, Virginia, William and his wife Joanna, Rogers, Arkansas and Sharon Bone and her husband Charles, San Antonio, Texas, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
