Funeral service for SFC (Ret.) William "Bill" S. Hurley, Sr., 75, will be 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic Rites.

Burial with full military honors will be in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.

Bill was born on March 19, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Arthur Hurley and Hilda Marie Hurley (Harris). He passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Bill was a proud Vietnam and Desert Storm Veteran who loved his country and dedicated twelve years to active military service in the United States Army. After he left the Army, he continued serving his country in the National Guard and through the Civil Service. He was also the owner of American Wrecker and Salvage for twenty-three years.

William's life was not just about service, but also about living it to the fullest. He found joy in volunteering at The Cancer Center, a cause that was close to his heart as a cancer survivor. When not working, serving his country, or volunteering, he enjoyed going on cruises, racing cars at the Lawton Speedway, gambling (no matter the form), and traveling to visit his family or to attend the world's largest swap meet in Canton, Texas.

William was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by his life partner, Renate Espinal; daughters, Tina Hardin and her husband, Dirk, and Katrina Eckart and her husband, Eric; son, William S. Hurley, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Chelsia Wilkerson, Ashley Wilkerson, Savannah Hartough-Nohns, Zachary Nohns, Luke Nohns, Vanessa Cremeens, Quinten Eckart, Bristyl Eckart, and William S. Hurley, III; and six great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
