Obituary

SFC (Retired) Thomas Anthony Lavendusky passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.

He was born on July 15, 1944 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to William and Barbara Lavendusky. After graduating from high school, he attended St. Gregory's College in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he played and lettered in basketball. However, after about a year he decided to change course, so he enlisted in the United States Army. For nearly 25 years he proudly served his country and rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class.  He was the recipient of numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star medal for his dedication and bravery. After retiring from the Army, he continued to embody the values of service, friendship, and strength that defined his life.

Tom loved the simple joys: an early morning on the golf course, a quiet day fishing, and long card games with good friends. His steady presence and warm laugh made every gathering better.

He is survived by his four children, Tom Lavendusky and wife Jodie of Bixby, Oklahoma, Michael Lavendusky and wife Stephanie of Marinette, Wisconsin, Andrew Lavendusky of Lansing, Michigan, and Barbara Lavendusky of Lawton, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, Victoria and husband Carlos Ramirez of Coweta, Oklahoma, Lillian Lavendusky of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Oakley Lavendusky of Lawton, Oklahoma and his brother, Dr. William Lavendusky, De Soto, Kansas.
