Sergeant First Class (Retired) Nolan Duane Wiley, known lovingly as Duane, 47, of Elgin, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Duane was born on September 23, 1978, in Bryan, Texas, to Nolan Dean Wiley and Cathy Wiley. He grew up in Hearne, Texas, before answering the call to serve his country. On March 3, 1998, Duane enlisted in the United States Army as a 14H Early Warning System Operator/Maintainer. He served faithfully and honorably for 20 years and 19 days, retiring on March 31, 2018, after a distinguished career of service to his nation.

During his military career, Duane earned numerous awards and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three awards, Army Achievement Medal with eight awards, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal with four awards, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with two awards, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with four awards, Driver and Mechanic Badge with two awards, Certificate of Achievement with two awards, the Basic Space Badge, and the Ancient Order of Saint Barbara.

Following his retirement from the Army, Duane continued serving the military community through his work with Raytheon as an Instructor/Writer. He was currently working at Fort Sill as a 14H Instructor, where he continued to share his knowledge, experience, and dedication with the next generation of Soldiers.

Duane was married to his beloved wife, Jessica Navarrette, for 24 years. Above all else, he loved being home with his family. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with those he loved, whether playing video games, building Legos, laughing with family and friends, or simply being present with them. He had a gift for making people smile, often sending funny or meaningful videos to friends and family, posting pictures of sunrises and sunsets on TikTok, or sending random smart-aleck texts to the people he cared about most. Those small moments were part of who Duane was thoughtful, funny, loyal, and deeply devoted to his family and close friends.

Duane is survived by his wife, Jessica; his father, Nolan Dean Wiley; his mother, Cathy Wiley; his sons, Joe Michael, Diego and wife Lisette, Marc Anthony, and Matteo; his sister, Shannon; and his nieces, Veronica Padilla, Savannah Grace, Scarlette Grace, and Cheyenne Grace. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
