SFC (Retired) Milton E. Fritts, 79, of Lawton passed away at his home on Monday, November 28, 2016, surrounded by his Son Jim and Wife Mickey. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Mickey Fritts. Born in Hot Springs Arkansas, October 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Fritts and Jetta Mackey Fritts and was a graduate of Austin High School in El Paso Texas. Milton joined the military and quickly moved up the ranks.  He was a nuclear weapons expert and a member of the Royal Order of the Free Neutron.  His deployments took him all around the world.  His nuclear detachment was deployed to Turkey and was placed on the border of Russia during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  During his service, He was awarded many service medals and ribbons.  He was also a service wounded veteran from the Vietnam War earning him a purple heart.

After retiring from the military, Milton was the General Manager of Christopher's Home Furnishings for many years.  He was the Manager of New York Life Insurance Company in Lawton for 25 years.  He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, was a Centurion Award winner and also earned the prestigious National Quality Award for being the best in service.  He eventually retired and spent many years traveling all over the world with his Wife, Family and Friends.

Milt always felt very fortunate and led an incredibly adventurous life.  Milton was happiest traveling, riding his motorcycle and living life to the fullest.  Some of his greatest adventures seem like a fairy tale but they really happened.  He and Mickey rode a boat down the Nile River and climbed inside King Tut's Tomb.  Overheated and exhausted they both peered into the boy kings sarcophagus.  Ten people one third their age couldn't make the entire trip due to heat exhaustion and the steep climbing.  As a young Man, Milt hitchhiked across Turkey, Germany and much of the United States.

At 76, he and his son Bob spent 5 days on an aircraft carrier (tiger cruise) from Hawaii to San Diego. At 77, He and his Son Tom rode their Motorcycles all the way to Maine to eat a lobster.  They rode to Seattle Washington and down the coast to Sedona Arizona.  He and his son Jim spent 2 weeks riding motorcycles throughout the German countryside. One of his final adventures at the age of 76, he rode his motorcycle from Lawton Oklahoma all the way to the Arctic Circle with two of his motorcycle buddies.  He also took his daughter Jackie whitewater rafting down the Colorado River.  Time with his Family was the most important thing for Milton and he never hesitated to involve everyone in his adventures.  He took his grandchildren on amazing trips with him.  They went snowmobiling in Michigan, snow skiing in New Mexico, motorcycle riding through the mountains and a 300 mile bicycle trip from Joplin Missouri to St. Louis Missouri.

He is survived by a son, Robert K. Fritts and wife, Christina Fritts of Lawton, a daughter Jackie Fritts Smith and husband Terry Smith of Edmond, OK, a son Tom Fritts and wife Denise Fritts of Chattanooga, OK, and a son Jim Fritts and wife Lanae Fritts of Lawton.
