Memorial service for SFC (Retired) James McCoy Bennett, Sr. will be at 10:00am Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Citychurch, Oklahoma City with Dr. Richard Hogue, Pastor officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Sergeant Bennett passed away April 29, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma.  He was born March 22, 1932 in Havelock, North Carolina to Mr. & Mrs. Cassie Bennett.  He retired from the US Army Field Artillery on February 28, 1974 after honorably serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.  After his Army retirement he went to work for Goodyear where he retired there after 20 years.

Survivors include his 4 children; Brenda A. Browning and her spouse Samuel R., Sr. of San Antonio, TX, James M. Bennett (late spouse Myron J.) of Lawton, Oklahoma, Caszie A. Bennett, Sr. and his spouse Debra A. of Bethany, Oklahoma, Christopher S. Bennett, Sr. and his spouse Cynthia C. of Sacramento, California, grandchildren; Samuel R. Browning, Jr., Nichelle Walton, Jehramy J.E. Bennett, Daniel O. Bennett, Leah E. Bennett, Siobhan  A. Louis, Caszie A. Bennett, Jr., Carleton R. Bennett, Christian D. Mitchell, Destin J. Bennett, Stuart M. Bennett, Alexandria B. Bennett, Christopher S. Bennett, Jr., Christal Bennett, 17 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
