Age 92, Lawton - Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin with Rev. Wayne Schoonover, pastor of Liberty Heights Chapel and Father Thomas Roland officiating. Sgt Cuny died Monday in Duncan. Inurnment will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born August 8, 1916 in Aurora, Illinois to Emil and Marie (Roehrie) Cuny. Sgt Cuny served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received the following medals, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal W/device, Republic Vietnam Service Medal W/6 Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal Silver Clasp W/2 loops and the Vietnam Medal of Honor second class. He married Anna King on March 11, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She died February 18, 2008. He married Robbie Conatser on May 1, 2008 in Lawton. Sgt Cuny preached at the Pete Coffey Mennonite Brethren Church in Cache for many years. Survivors include his wife, of the home, two sons, Matthew Cuny and his wife Cindy, Midland, Texas and Thomas Cuny, Pittsburg, Kansas, two grandchildren, Jeanna Cuny, Clinton, South Carolina and Janice Cuny, College Station, Texas, two sisters, Ruth and Emily and a brother, Raymond.
