Funeral service for SFC (Retired) Elmo Dale Northcutt, 85, Elgin will be at 10:00am Friday in the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher Chapel with Pastor Robert Smith, Dayspring Community Church, Lawton officiating. Sergeant Northcutt died Tuesday in a Lawton hospital. Burial with full military honors will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher. The family will greet friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until 7:30pm. He was born December 31, 1924 in Colorado City, Texas to Robert and Clara (White) Northcutt. He married Peggy Lee Caldwell on October 4, 1951 in Lawton. She died September 10, 1976. He joined the US Army on April 30, 1943. He retired June 30, 1966 after 23 years of service. He served in the Pacific theatre on New Guinea during WW II, and served in Korea. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre ribbon, WW II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal - 6th award, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Campaign Stars, and the UN Service Medal. He loved his flowers, taking care of his yard and donkeys. He is survived by his three daughters, Brenda Henson of Elgin, OK, Glenda Oliver of Lawton, Linda McKean and husband Billy of Fletcher, OK, eight grandchildren, Natalie Clark and husband Danny of Sterling, OK, Brian Henson and wife Jennifer of Wichita Falls, TX, Dale Oliver and wife Stacey of Lawton, Crystal Richardson and husband Nick of Arlington, TX, Billie Lee McKean and wife Katherine of Stillwater, OK, Brandy McKean and Adam Carrillo of Fletcher, OK, Lauren Maahs and husband Marty of Altus, OK, Ciarra McKean of Fletcher, OK, eight great grandchildren, Tucker, Hayden, Lacy, Tanner, Lucas, Isaac, Baylie, Eli and four great grandbabies on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and a sister.
