Graveside service with full military honors for SFC (Retired) David W. Bennett will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Fort Sill National Cemetery Elgin, Oklahoma with Pastor Christy Clark, Lawton Heights United Methodist Church officiating.

David W. Bennett was born July 26,1949, in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Carl and Marjorie Bennett. He went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with heart disease and other complications.

He lived in Hamburg, Iowa until graduation in 1967. David entered the Airforce in 1968 and was discharged in 1972. He then entered the Army in 1975 and continued until 1999 when he retired after 24 years.

David married Vickie (Lynn)Bennett on July 7, 1979,

To this union of 46 years 1 child was born Carl Dean Bennett, from previous marriage Angela Bennett White, Lisa Bennett (deceased) and one granddaughter Annabelle Hardwick.

After retirement David enjoyed bowling and visiting with the Liar's club at the Thunderbird bowling alley where they handled all the worldly problems in the time spent together with friends.

Preceded in death are parents Carl and Marge Bennett, brother Martin Bennett.
