Word has been received of the death of SFC (Retired) Carlton Walton Burk, 77, Lawton. Sgt Burk died Friday, February 17, 2012 in Lawton. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at a later date at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin. He was born April 23, 1934 in Tulsa to Jack Walton and Beatrice Mae (Bowers) Burk. He married Carol Ann Loder on September 16, 1960 in Tulsa. She died May 13, 2007. Sgt Burk retired from the U.S. Army in 1975 after more than twenty years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal Fifth Award, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross With Palm Unit Citation, Vietnam service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device and three Overseas Bars. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Christine E. and Thomas Armstrong, Lawton, son and daughter-in-law, Carl J. and Kim Burk, Queens Creek, Arizona, three granddaughters, Jamie Armstrong, Christel Sheppard and her husband David and Brooklyn Martinez, two grandsons, Kyle Burk and T. J. Armstrong and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Carla Dale
