Funeral Mass for SFC (Retired) Anthony Scarfone will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton, Pastor officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma, under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Anthony Scarfone died Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.  He was born March 27, 1942 in Port Chester, New York.  He spent his formative years in Port Chester and was a graduate of Port Chester High School.  Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army, retiring after more than 20 years of service.  He married Helga Stach on December 21, 1961 in Germany.

Following his retirement from the Army he worked as a maintenance man for various local real estate companies before purchasing Sander's Hardware where he remained until his retirement in 2010.  He enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; three sons and their spouses, Richard Scarfone, Robert and Gayle Scarfone, and Joseph and Toni Scarfone; nine grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

His parents and a brother, John Joseph Scarfone, preceded him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
