Graveside service for Sandra Faye Monroe-Bruno, 63, Lawton will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin with Rev. Kenneth E. Hayes, pastor of Jefferson Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Monroe-Bruno joined God in Heaven Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Sandra was born on January 5, 1949 to Oscar Stevens and Leona Ward Stevens in Manila, Arkansas. She later relocated to Lawton where she met and Married Billy Monroe on September 13, 1965. She loved her family very much and her greatest joy in life was to spend time with her four children and three grandchildren. The memories she made with her grandkids will last forever. She was very proud of her grandson, Kristopher, for graduating from high school, being responsible and becoming a hardworking young man. She took pride in her oldest granddaughter Kate for loving God and attending church, making good grades and being so beautiful. She was best friends with her 7 year old granddaughter, Taylor. They were the perfect pair and were inseparable. Tay was very attached to and protective of her nana and was definitely Nana's girl. She put her family before anything or anyone and loved each one unconditionally. She will be whole heartedly and painfully missed. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roy Wayne and Wanda Monroe, Wichita Falls, Texas, three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Monroe, Lawton, Tracey and Stefano Douglas, Oklahoma City and Jennifer Dominguez and Jason Berger, Lawton, three grandchildren, Kristopher Monroe, Katelyn Dominguez and Taylor Dominguez, all of Lawton, two brothers, Neal Stevens, Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Conway Stevens, Osceola, Arkansas and a niece, Jeanna Jewell, Waynesville, Missouri. She was met at the heavenly gate by her parents, husband and sister, Shelby Jean Williams.
