Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Samuel Ray Jett, 75, of Geronimo, Oklahoma, who passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Sam was born on April 8, 1951, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Chester and Beatrice (Rath) Jett. He graduated from Lawton High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Sam spent many years searching for his purpose, which he found when he married his wife of 44 years, Carroll (Denney) Jett. Together, they turned life's challenges into a meaningful journey. Sam worked for Western Uniform Company for many years, eventually becoming a supervisor. Later, he and Carroll chased their dreams, traveling coast to coast in their RV and creating a lifetime of memories and friendships along the way.

They eventually settled in Geronimo, Oklahoma, where Sam worked for the Geronimo School District. His smile, laughter, and witty, mischievous personality brought immense joy to both students and staff as well.

Sam's true passion was his family. He showed that family is built on love and commitment, working diligently to be the best father he could be to Carroll's daughter, loving her as his own in a bond that will last an eternity. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the greatest gifts in his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was always ready for anything they asked of him-singing, dancing, and especially putting on his apron to grill them a steak. We are deeply grateful for the cherished memories we will hold forever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carroll Jett; his daughter, Kassandra Gayle Denney Fox; his sons, Tony Lemon and Craig James; his stepson, Quinton Denney and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sisters, Joyce Morris and Charlotte
Winke; his brother, Eddie Jett; his longtime friend whom he considered a brother, Joe Latimer, and wife Brenda; and his beloved dog, Jitty, whom he loved deeply and who misses him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters, and his favorite uncle, Raymond.

Though his journey here has come to an end, the memories he made, the friendships he formed, and the love he shared and the love he left behind will continue to travel with those he leaves behind.

At Sam's request, no formal service will be held. Instead, we invite you to hold onto the wonderful memories, laughter, and love he shared with us all.

Thank you to everyone who has sent their condolences/ He would be humbled by the outpouring of care and love that has been sent his way.
