November 16, 1938 - July 28, 2025

Sally Anne Sawyer, 86, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, July 28, 2025. She was born in Long Beach, California on November 16, 1938 to Albert and Annie (Hornby) Jennings. Sally grew up in South Norfolk, Virginia where she shared a close bond with her two brothers, Bill and Jim Jennings.

Sally's love story began in high school when she met her future husband, William "Buzz" Sawyer. They were married on October 13, 1962, in South Norfolk, Virginia. Their 62-year marriage was a testament to love, partnership, and mutual respect.

After 22 years of multiple military stations in many different states and countries, Sally, Buzz, and their children settled in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1976. Sally worked as a dedicated nurse and enjoyed a fulfilling career until her retirement in 1997. She was known for her compassion, commitment to her patients, and her warm, caring heart.

Sally's family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her beloved husband, William "Buzz" Sawyer, of the home; their children: Danny Sawyer (Dutton, Alabama), Karen Hernandez (Richard) of Lawton Oklahoma, William "Bill" Sawyer (Lori) of Lawton and Amy Butler (Bryan) of Duncan, Oklahoma; and her brother Jim Jennings.

She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Morgan, Roger, Seqwn, Jessica, Faith, Sara, Dalton, Addison, Riley, and Jackson; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Jennings, and granddaughter, Sydney Sawyer.

Sally will be remembered for her unwavering love, devotion to her family, and the deep impact she made on the lives of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
