Funeral service for former Lawton resident Sadie S. Baygents, 89, Oklahoma City, will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2013 at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Keith Miles, Pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Baygents passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Sadie was born November 14, 1923 in Ninety Six, South Carolina to Malcolm and Talva Slice. She married MSG (Retired) John W. Baygents, Jr. on April 21, 1959 in Augusta, Georgia. She was a military wife who was described as the best cook ever. She enjoyed going to the Lawton Speedway every Saturday night and fishing. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include four children, Pam and husband Steve Olwine, Greenville, Ohio, Johnette Stuckey, John Baygents III and wife Marsha Ayers, all of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Lisa Baygents and husband Al Cathey, Frederick, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and nine brothers and sisters.
