Graveside service for Russell W. Carter, 82, Lawton will be at 10:00 AM Friday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin with Rev. Floyd Allen officiating. Mr. Carter died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. He was born October 12, 1930 in Lisbon, North Dakota to Arthur and Evelyn (Berry) Carter. Mr. Carter joined the National Guard in 1950 and served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for Larrance Steel from 1956 until January 2012. He married Anna L. Moore on March 25, 1955 in Lawton. She died March 7, 2012. Survivors include his daughter, Martha Joyce, Daleville, Alabama, four grandchildren, Darla Hurst, Tim Joyce, Wendy Joyce and Tracy Batchelor, four great grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother, Richard and two sisters, Luverne and Elaine.
