Funeral service for Rufino Barrett, Jr., 27, Lawton, will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the St. Elmo Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Guest officiating. Mr. Barrett died May 14 in an Oklahoma City hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He was born July 13, 1984 in the Republic of Panama. He was a graduate of Macarthur High School and later attended Cameron University. He was a certified nursing assistant and at the time of his death worked at the Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center. He was a member of St. Elmo Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served as an usher. He enjoyed Gospel music. He is survived by his parents, Rufino Barrett, Sr. and Cecilia Barrett, of the home; two sisters, Karina Barrett, of the home, and Dianna Pippins, Georgia; a niece, Cilicia Thornton; a nephew, Marion Pippins, a Godson, Amir Rodriguez; many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
